Litigation/Commercial Real Estate/Financial Services Paralegal Duties: Assisting trial counsel in all areas of client representation including drafting correspondence and pleadings; preparing discovery and discovery responses; document management; preparing for depositions, mediation, arbitration and trial, and supporting attorneys at trial. Reviewing transaction documents for acquisitions, sales, loans, and other matters; preparing critical dates memo and closing checklists; arranging due diligence such as title and survey orders; drafting closing documents and settlement statements under attorney supervision; assisting with document preparation and state filings for the formation of business entities; obtaining EIN; reviewing title findings and surveys to evaluate title and survey issues and coordinating curative steps; drafting legal descriptions; arranging UCC/litigation/lien searches; coordinating delivery of final title/survey products for closing; finalizing closing documents for execution; coordinating escrow closings; preparing forms to disburse settlement; E-filing closing documents or preparing and sending hard copy recording package to County; preparing and filing UCC documentation; be proactive with post-closing and post-closing tasks (obtaining payoff letters, satisfaction of prior loans, confirming receipt of recorded closing documents, coordinating preparation or receipt of title policies, preparing e-closing binders); and constantly communicating with all parties involved in a transaction (seller and its counsel, purchaser and its counsel, lender and its counsel, brokers, title agent, surveyor). Qualifications: Must have either a Bachelor's Degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program. Should have 5 years of relevant experience. Must have knowledge of court rules, proficiency in paper and e-filing (state and federal), knowledge of court websites and research skills, and being familiar with the federal and state rules of procedure and evidence and ensure compliance with rules. Candidates should possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills. Should have an aptitude for detail, the ability to work efficiently and to work under pressure with or without direct supervision. Must be able to handle multiple projects at the same time and be familiar with computerized databases, document management programs, and online services.
