Employment Litigation Paralegal The candidate researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys. Under general supervision, researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney. Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters. Summarizes legal documents. Organizes and indexes case files. Determines and calendars deadlines. Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation. Files pleadings with court clerk. Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints. Drafts a variety of legal documents. Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file. Prepares for mediations and trials. Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions. Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner. Must have 6+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably for a large employment litigation practice. Should preferably have paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Document Management System, expense and billing systems is needed. Able to operate multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, and scanner is must.
