Paralegal I The candidate will assist the Senior Paralegals and Attorneys with the management of corporate immigration cases and client interactions. Will perform a variety of duties related to legal document preparation and management, research and case management which requires knowledge of the legal system, terminology and procedures in addition to clerical and administrative skills. Prepare immigration cases as assigned by manager for submittal to the appropriate government agency; begin to achieve a mastery of case types from simple to complex filings within particular practice area(s). Responsible for working with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters. Work with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely manner. Prepare forms according to information received from clients. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer/client. Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney. Demonstrate ability to manage a high caseload and work within strict timelines. Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions. Run reports to assist in managing one s own caseload. Draft support statements and organizes documentations for filling. File and monitor applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Perform research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, stand processing times, etc. Initiate contact with government officials to obtain necessary information to alert supervising attorney of potential delays or possible problems in the processing of an application. The candidate must have Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate. Should have ability to excel within an extremely high volume environment. Should have ability to make sound judgment calls.
