Legal Secretary - Labor & Employment/immigration/litigation The candidate will work with two Partners and two Of Counsel attorneys in the specific areas of Immigration, Intellectual Property Litigation, and Construction Litigation. Will be responsible for travel arrangements, heavy calendaring, document revisions, drafting draft immigration forms and compiling documents for submitting to USCIS. Will also file frequently with the applicable state, federal or appellate courts. Provides secretarial support to assignments including, but not limited to, transcribing tapes, typing correspondence, reports, memoranda and/or other documents (i.e., briefs and other pleadings, wills, closing documents, electronic filing etc.), submitting same for review; revising, proofreading, assembling and distributing prepared material as necessary in an accurate and timely manner. Communicates properly and promptly with Benesch personnel and external contacts at all times and must exhibit a high level of client service. Reviews statements for billings received from the Accounting Department to clients for services rendered and makes any appropriate edits. Originates correspondence as directed and assumes other responsibilities including but not limited to, reviewing and routing incoming correspondence, scheduling appointments, creating and maintaining files and indexes, screening and routing telephone calls, and receiving and directing clients, preparing expense reports, as well as, entering timekeepers as required. Develops and maintains well-organized and timely client files, resource materials and administrative files. Schedules and confirms appointments in a proactive manner. Proactively participates as a member of the buddy backup coverage team. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have a High School Diploma. In addition, one to three years of legal secretarial experience is required. Must be able to handle many priorities at one time, work well with others and have excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel are required. Must possess an excellent client service attitude. Experience with USCIS or experience with the AIA program for Litigation documents is strongly preferred.
