Assist in the presentation of electronic exhibits, assist in tracking of trial exhibits, coordinate witness appearances and serve as a key contact with court personnel in the logistics of the trial process. Prepare notices and subpoenas; summarize/index transcripts; prepare witness files; select and assemble potential deposition exhibits; attend and take notes at depositions. Assist in preparing discovery requests and responses; summarize responses from other parties. Requirements: Paralegal certificate, related experience, or degree preferred. 5+ years of law firm litigation experience with strong knowledge of e-discovery tools and software, document management and trial preparation. Track, calendar and advise attorneys on litigation deadlines. Prepare correspondence, check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy. Assist with all aspects of deposition, trial and arbitration preparation. Generate reports detailing upcoming deadlines. Assist with all aspects of discovery, including: document requests, document review, management of document productions and electronic databases. Organize and coordinate litigation holds and electronically stored information (ESI) review. Cite check and shepardize briefs. Prepare quality tables of contents and authorities. The candidate should have an education sufficient to hold paralegal certification in California. Current continuing legal education and valid paralegal certification needed. Should have 3+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or similar environment. Must be an experienced certified Paralegal with excellent legal secretarial and organizational skills. Employment-law or human resources background is a plus, as is strong recent document preparation (formatting, tabling, etc.) expertise.
