Attends at trial and court hearings to assist attorneys with exhibits, witnesses and demonstrative presentations as necessary. Checks citations in briefs for compliance with The Bluebook Uniform System of Citation and court rules, etc. Assists with propounding and responding to written discovery requests, preparing documents for production, and preparing subpoenas for documents. Assists with summarizing and organizing depositions and document productions. Assists with factual and legal research. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have a degree or certificate in paralegal studies. 3+ years of related experience is preferred. Proficiency in various software applications is required. Must be able to handle many priorities at one time, work well with others and have excellent communication skills. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Assist with formation and registration of entities, acquisition of federal employment identification numbers and related tasks. Under the supervision of an attorney, drafting, editing, cite-checking and otherwise assisting in the preparation of loan, purchase, sale, loan servicing and ancillary documents. Overall support to the real estate and transactions group. Requirements: Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program, or equivalent work experience.. 5+ years of relevant work experience as paralegal or in document preparation, contract reviewing and/or transaction due diligence.. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and aptitude for quickly learning various other programs. Ability to use independent judgment to problem solve and find solutions to transactional issues. Ability to be flexible and adaptable, coupled with a willingness to do what it takes and wear many hats. Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills. Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously. Willingness to work both independently and as a part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
