Employment Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Serve as legal team liaison to client representatives, third parties, and outside counsel to effectively manage flow and accuracy of information in employment litigation-related matters. Assist attorneys in managing cases in multiple jurisdictions, including scheduling and calendaring court deadlines, hearings, depositions, internal deadlines, and discovery events. Draft and revise responses to subpoenas, requests for production, interrogatories, and other discovery requests in collaboration with attorneys and other team members. Provide support to and communicate with in-house counsel regarding administrative charges, litigation matters, and discovery requests. Organize, maintain and supervise document collection for various matters, including the collection, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI). Create, disseminate and manage litigation holds. Conduct legal research on various labor and employment issues as assigned. Professionally communicate with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and firm personnel. Consistently complete assigned tasks when expected. Able to juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor. Qualifications: BA degree or equivalent. Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Westlaw; receptiveness to training in other software platforms including e-discovery tools. Must have 3 years of experience in labor and employment law and/or business litigation, ideally at a medium-to-large firm that primarily represents employers or business clients. Experience in all phases of the civil litigation process, particularly discovery and motion practice. Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneys. Knowledge of federal and state court rules, preferably those of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Superior Court. Experience preparing for and assisting in trials, arbitrations, or other evidentiary hearings. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A commitment to the utmost professionalism and accuracy in written work product. Exceptionally well organized and detail-oriented. Adaptable to changing priorities; flexible. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, other counsel and vendors. Ability to troubleshoot issues and create solutions.
