Commercial Litigation Paralegal The candidate's duties include: Assisting attorneys in all phases of litigation and some transactional work. Draft and prepare pleadings, such as answering complaints and motions; Draft discovery requests such as subpoenas, interrogatories, document requests, etc. Review production for key documents, privilege materials, and responsiveness; Legal research and writing; Create chronologies and/or timelines of key events; Create deposition summaries; Research publicly filed documents regarding parties involved in the litigation. Perform asset searches, internet searches to locate witnesses or relevant information; Manage attorney's calendar including deadlines per the Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; Coordinate document production and other civil discovery requests; Assist with case development and fact gathering; Prepare materials for attorneys use at hearings; Assist in preparing witnesses for depositions and trials. Must have Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate. Preferred candidates will have 3 to 10 years of experience in litigation. Should be proficient in current versions of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and document management systems. Should know how and where to find local rules for various State and Federal Courts; Must have knowledge of Federal CM/ECF and Florida Courts E-Filing Portal; Should have advanced knowledge of legal practices, terminology, and format for litigation documents; Discovery experience with litigation support software (e.g., Relativity), a plus. Florida Notary Public, a plus. Quick comprehension and execution skills and ability to deliver quality work on time and under pressure. Should have excellent editing skills, attention to detail, conscientiousness, versatility, professionalism, reliability, and an ability to work well on a team and with personnel at all levels. Must have strong organizational and communications skills (verbal and written).
