Paralegal - IP Litigation The candidate will manage all aspects of large scale, complex litigation. The position will require overtime and may involve some travel. Full understanding of litigation motion practice, discovery, trial and appellate procedures; ability to administratively manage all phases of a case. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines. Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service and efficiency. Trial preparation and attendance in both jury and non-jury trials in Federal courts. Preparation and set-up for Markman hearings. Manage electronic and hard copy documents using Firm and Client specific technology. Prepare deposition notices and subpoenas; organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries; track depositions. Preparation for fact and expert witness depositions. Coordinate and manage large scale document collection and production. Bluebook, cite check, and proofread briefs. Must have thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements. Knowledge of Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and internet search engines is required. Should have Knowledge of Pacer and ECF filing procedures; draft and prepare documents for service and e-filing in federal jurisdictions. Must have experience with eDiscovery software including Relativity, Case Notebook, Trial Director and Adobe Professional. Should have experience gathering patent documents from USPTO databases and researching technical references. Should have BA/BS with strong academic credentials. Must have 7 years of Paralegal experience at a medium or large law firm with experience at trial or before the ITC. Should be proficient at Microsoft Office applications and eDiscovery software. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program is desired. Should preferably have experience with Intellectual Property litigation.
