Real Estate / Civil Litigation Associate Attorney The candidate must have a J.D. degree with 1-year experience in real estate law, with some experience in the following areas: Transaction issues (Breach of lease agreement/purchase agreement) both commercial and residential; Real Property Secured Transaction Litigation and/or Foreclosures, Boundary Disputes, ABA issues related to websites, Landlord/Tenant Disputes and Evictions, Post Judgment and Collections, Liens, Judgments, and Notes/Deeds of Trust; Law and Motion; Pleadings; Discovery; Legal filing and calendaring; general familiarity and ability to look up and comply with the Code of Civil Procedure and local court rules; trial experience preferred; trial preparation; work with outside vendors for filing/service, etc.; data input to the legal software (i.e. MyCase); answer phones and client communication; proven working experience as an attorney; think on feet and work through settlement negotiations; proven track record; ability to work autonomously and sell effectively; outstanding people skills with a demonstrable aptitude in negotiation; basic knowledge of MS Office; valid license to practice the profession; Pref. experience with MyCase software. Must be a team player and have the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment; familiar with all phases of discovery, depositions, mediations, drafting motions, oppositions, demurrers, default prove ups, etc.; able to work in a team setting and organize tasks; self-sufficient and have excellent writing skills; Trustworthy and results-driven.
