The firm also receives very high scores for the treatment of associates by partners and there does appear to be a very good relationship here between associates and partners with associates feeling they are part of the mix to a great degree and respected by partners. Products Liability Litigation Paralegal Duties: Assist litigation lawyers with all phases of litigation case support including document/information management, factual analysis, discovery, and trial support. Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters. Organize and maintain case files, pleadings, and documents. Prepare case/matter and attorney notebooks. Summarize articles, reports, witness statements, and depositions. Conduct factual and legal research and analysis. Obtain factual information from clients and third parties, including governmental agencies. Perform database input and retrieval. Draft and revise legal documents and correspondence. Coordinate service of process and/or filings with public entities. Prepare material for in-house and outside distribution. Manage distribution of data and materials. Coordinate and attend client conferences, document productions, depositions, closings, and other transactions. Keep track of case/matter deadlines. Review, organize, and coordinate agreements and remittances. Create and maintain case spreadsheets and charts. Maintain practice group form files and systems. Prepare material for photocopying. Keep accurate time records. Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the job position, consistent with the Firm's attendance expectations. Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of all phases of litigation, discovery, and trial procedures. Strong case management skills and technical skills. Knowledge of complex litigation practices such as removals from state to federal court, consolidation of proceedings, and the MDL process. Demonstrated skills in document/information management. Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with Firm lawyers and staff, client personnel, and other professionals. Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with billing procedures and financial accounting. Ability to handle multiple tasks and concurrent deadlines. Work well under pressure and independently. Experience with Relativity, DISCO, Leapfile, DropBox, and Sharepoint. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and attestation letter or a Bachelor's Degree and ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate required. Working knowledge and understanding of Federal, Bankruptcy and State court processes and procedures including electronic filing portals. Proficient in navigating Federal, Bankruptcy and State Court websites to research local rules and familiarity with legal research, including use of Pacer and Westlaw. Familiarity with State, Bankruptcy and Federal rules and procedures, as well as procedures with State and Federal agencies. Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills. Ability to timely respond to deadlines, balance workload and take initiative.
