Contract Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant The candidate will draft court-ready state and federal motions and filings quickly and with attention to detail. Will draft requests and responses to discovery; motions, pleadings, demands and correspondence. Maintain the litigation calendar flawlessly: to include discovery deadlines, hearings, appointments. Maintain daily organization of a high volume docket; Draft requests and responses to discovery; motions, pleadings, demands and correspondence - work with clients to complete discovery; E-file state and federal pleadings and motions. Document, organize, and prepare a file for trial. Deal professionally with clients. Maintain office file cloud system; and able to scan, fax, email.
The candidate should have an Associates degree or higher. Paralegal certification is strongly preferred. Should have 10+ years of experience, 5 years of which needs to be litigation experience in a law firm. High volume firm experience preferred. Experience with federal and state e-filing is essential. Experience calculating and calendaring deadlines via interpretation of local state and federal rules is needed. Excellent communication skills and positive attitude is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word is essential. Experience with MAC/Apple computers is preferred. Experience with cloud-based client management software is a plus. Should be computer savvy.
