Patent Paralegal Duties: Assist in all prosecution phases of a matter from the filing of application through to issuance of a patent. Prepare patent applications and subsequent filings for submission to USPTO. Communicate and coordinate with colleagues, clients, and foreign agents. Order documents from various sources. Review and process inbound mail. Report PTO activities to clients. Monitor docket for assigned matters to ensure all deadlines are timely met. Manage prior art libraries and charts. Provide backup coverage on quality control of filings to be made with USPTO. Mentor and train more junior members of the Paralegal Team.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher. 7+ years of patent prosecution experience; experience in U.S. filings is a must. Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and IP-specific software. Strong English is written and oral communication skills. A strong drive and willingness to own projects and see them to completion. Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks. Ability to maintain large portfolios of cases.
