Litigation Paralegal The candidate will support several offices on a variety of employment matters. Will take an active lead on trial preparation, managing and organizing court documents and document production, be responsible for researching law, investigating facts, and preparing documents to assist attorneys. Provide litigation support to attorneys in trial or arbitration. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and appeals for review and use by attorneys. Be responsible for providing complex case management support and will assist in the development and presentation of evidence in court proceedings including exhibit binders. Research law, investigate facts, and independently prepare documents to assist attorneys with matters. Summarize complex legal documents. Organize and index complex case files. Determine and calendar deadlines. Perform a wide variety of legal research and data compilation, with little or no supervision. File pleadings with court clerk. Prepare reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints. Draft a wide variety of legal documents. Prepare affidavits or documents and maintain document files. Prepare for mediations and trials. Assist Attorneys at trial and in preparation for depositions. Communicate with witnesses and experts. Enter billing and time entry data into Firm system in a timely manner. Project work, including monthly reporting on portfolio client litigation and advice matters, and working with client support teams to execute across firm/client electronic platforms. The candidate should have 6+ years of experience. Experience in employment litigation is a bonus. Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university is preferred. Proven trial support experience including coordinating non-attorney resources in preparation for arbitration or trial, assisting with pre-trial filings and related projects, attending trial and providing support to trial team are essential. Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Document Management Systems. Proficiency with searching and reviewing in Relativity essential Proficiency with Trial Director or Sanction, and West Transcript (LiveNote) is preferred.
