Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Extensive client contact. Reviews records to determine what information is needed for cases. Drafting correspondence, affidavits and other litigation related documents. Prepare and answer discovery. Document production. Correspondence with medical offices. Schedule depositions. Assists with trial preparation. Create and/or maintain meticulous records, spreadsheets, and files. Handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities in an efficient manner, rapid turnaround required, and generally perform in a fast-paced environment. Consistently meet deadlines while managing multiple projects with competing priorities. Other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements: Four-year Bachelors degree and/or two-year ABA approved Paralegal certificate ideal. 5+ years significant personal injury experience. 5+ years recent law firm litigation paralegal experience, with State court and Federal litigation experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Pro. Team oriented; must be capable of working in a collaborative environment. Self- motivated and able to operate independently with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be punctual and have excellent attendance. Must be highly motivated, dependable with high level of attention to detail and handle confidential information appropriately. This is a high-volume personal injury department so you must be organized with the ability to multi-task with multiple deadlines, under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must have experience in handling all aspects of the litigation process; from intake through trial preparation. Writing is required; proofreading and editing skills are required. Must have working experience as a litigation paralegal; applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc. Must have extensive computer and database expertise. Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently. Must have the necessary experience to immediately work within cases of moderate severity and complexity. Will have stable work history and possess strong technical proficiency, organizational, and analytical skills. Spanish speaking is a plus.
