Civil Litigation/Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney The candidate will be taking depositions of the plaintiffs and other parties. Conducting discovery. Performing legal research. Remaining current with developments in the law. Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents. Appear in court to cover motions and case management conferences. Retention of expert witnesses. Should have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school. The license in Illinois required, Missouri a plus. Should have 3+ years of experience and possible portable billings, or the willingness to market and develop own practice area. Must know substantive and procedural law, strong written and oral advocacy skills, and analytical and logical reasoning abilities. Must have the ability to synthesize complex legal and factual materials, superior interpersonal skills, and client development skills. Must have the ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines, excellent negotiation skills, be able to work efficiently with corporate professionals, be committed to excellent performance, and be detail-oriented. Must be willing to work on Illinois medical malpractice and general civil litigation matters.
