Senior Paralegal (Medical Malpractice/Disability Law) Responsibilities: Conducting initial intake of potential clients as first point of contact and on-boarding their case while building trust and rapport with them. Preparing written summaries, declarations and reviews of client information with the highest level of precision and accuracy. Managing paper and electronic case files, attorney calendars, and weekly docket with important deadlines. Proofing memorandum, drafting correspondence and minor legal documents, and electronically filing federal court submissions. Working with legal team to prepare materials for discovery, including document production and depositions. Preparing and organizing materials for motions and trials. Handling travel arrangements. Collecting, analyzing, and organizing legal, factual, social science and other non-legal research for use in litigation documents and policy presentations; conduct searches on internal and external document databases and systems, cull relevant information from a variety of resources such as newspapers, magazines, libraries, case documents and trade associations. Qualifications: Strong written and exceptional verbal communication skills. Exceptional grammar and editing skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Ability to work independently as well as within a team. Must have the ability to read, analyze, interpret and assess legal and non-legal documents proficiently and be able to determine how to process them accordingly. Preferred Qualifications: 2- or 4-year degree, Formal paralegal training from an accredited program, or 4-year degrees such as Creative Writing, English or other complementary focus. 3+ years working in administrative/support in a Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, or similar law firm (previous working knowledge of medical terminology is of great value). Familiarity with legal documents is preferred. Experience with WordPress, Canva and other online content programs. Proficiency using legal client management systems such as Clio or MyCase.
