Paralegal - Litigation DUTIES: Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State. Assist with management and organization of large document-intensive litigation case files. Duties include document retrieval, Bates labeling and indexing of documents for production, substantive coding of documents, witness file preparation, working with excel files and other tasks related to general discovery preparation. Perform fact checking, proofreading, prepare correspondence, indices, witness binders, exhibits for court filings and draft spreadsheets and appendices. Assist with the maintenance of pleadings, correspondence and related case files for use by case team. Assist with pre-trial and trial preparation including preparation of deposition designations, trial exhibits, and compilation of related trial examination binders. Conduct basic database, Westlaw and internet research and work with various computer applications. Perform administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, filing. Assist attorneys and other paralegals with assigned projects and work independently to complete projects, as necessary. Record daily time entries in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Firm. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Paralegal Certificate preferred. 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Excel and litigation support applications such as Relativity, LiveNote or TextMap. Knowledge of Westlaw and Internet research skills. Knowledge of the e-discovery process. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing duties. Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow the instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain while organizing and maintaining multiple cases.
