Litigation/ESI Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for consulting with and advising case teams on best practices for the preparation of electronic documents. Assist attorneys with production of electronic data/material both to and from external parties, including organizing and placing ESI onto common platforms for attorney review, as well as for production to opposing parties. Utilize ESI preservation/collection best practices. Generating productions, preparing databases for review teams, including configuring review settings, document folders, issue tags, and tagging rules as needed. Perform legal and factual database research. Supporting briefs and motions including cite checking, table of contents, and appendices. Supporting hearings and depositions including preparing witness folders and binders. Performing internet research and conduct document review. Preparing correspondence and providing trial preparations and in court assistance as needed. The candidate must have minimum of 2 years litigation experience. Must be a self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Proficiency in e-discovery (specifically ESI) including experience with litigation technology systems such as Relativity, Concordance, and Summation Pro is necessary. Willingness to learn new software applications as required is must. Ability to use electronic resources to collect, review, and organize data, provide for its indexing, analysis and retrieval for use by attorneys in litigation is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint) is must. Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research is required. Strong litigation administrative skills and knowledge of and experience with e-filing procedures in Federal, Appellate and State Courts, document management, including working in a document management system are needed. Solid interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a litigation support team are critical.
