Requirements: Paralegal certification from a paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association At least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a defense law firm in California Strong understanding of the California Code of Civil Procedure Thorough knowledge of legal terminology, key discovery statutes, principles and procedures Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; iManage; Summation; Concordance; and Trial Director Duties: Summarize and index documents including medical chronologies and billing summaries Develop and implement databases to manage, sort, index, analyze and summarize large volumes of data Assist attorneys in trial preparation Prepare documents for discovery, including motions, depositions and document productions Perform legal research Prepare court filings, draft and issue subpoenas Scan, code, upload, store and print documents Haight is an established law firm with several offices throughout California.
