Civil Litigation Paralegal Duties: Under general direction, assist attorneys in litigated matters. Organization and management of data. Draft correspondence and pleadings. Facilitating court filings. Preparing for hearings. Accurately tracking and recording time spent on tasks and projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate required. 1-2 years experience as a litigation paralegal is absolutely required. Must have excellent project management skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting or exceeding internal satisfaction goals. Must be a self-starter with proven efficacy as a problem solver. Excellent interpersonal skills and the highest degree of professionalism is a must. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have a positive attitude with an ongoing willingness to learn and develop. Must have working knowledge of San Diego Superior Courts. Working knowledge of San Diego Small Claims Court helpful. Working knowledge of online resources such as Pacer, state court dockets, search engines, social media, Lexis/Nexis, Edgar, etc. Working knowledge of wage garnishments, default judgments, post judgment accounting and enforcement preferred. Federal Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) experience and knowledge helpful. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible to meet client and attorney needs. Able to take initiative and anticipate what tasks need to be completed. Ability to understand and execute specific, detailed instructions. Strong initiative and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills a must. Strong organizational skills. Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime is required. Must have outstanding technology aptitude and literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro and time tracking software. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible under pressure to meet client and attorney needs with a positive attitude and composure.
