Business Litigation Paralegal Duties: Case management (create, organize, track and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software; schedule IMEs, compile and analyze medical records, etc.) Document management including electronic document productions, document review, electronic bates labeling, organization and redaction of documents, compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions. Assemble, format, and coordinate service of document productions. Collaborate with attorneys and clients in preparing legal documents such as arguments, motions, agreements, and responding to discovery requests. Schedule depositions, assist with discovery requests and responses, and prepare and file pleadings. Utilize computer databases to organize, store and access information; conduct moderately complex research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases. Proficiency in Relativity, Lexis TextMap, extensive experience in Adobe Acrobat and/or similar .pdf generating software, iManage, HighQ. Knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court). Perform factual research and investigation; proofread legal documents; and draft correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested. Review documents for content and privilege; compile privilege logs. Trial preparation and attendance at trial (organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed). Qualifications: A four year bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required. 3+ years of experience including trial experience. Medical malpractice experience preferred. Proactive and team oriented professional. Multitasking, time management; excellent organization skills and ability to meet rapid deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective professional relationships.
