Intellectual Patent Paralegal The candidate maintains and updates patent docket and CPI database. Prepares and files patent applications. Performs prior art and patent searches. Prepares prosecution documents and reporting correspondence to clients. Communicates with clients throughout initial filing, office actions, publication, allowance, issuance and renewal. Performs due diligence for transactions involving patents. Reviews WIPO and PCT communications and reports to clients and foreign associates. Prepares patent budgets and portfolio summaries. Prepares filings in post-grant proceedings (e.g., IPR, CBM, Reexaminations, etc.). Prepares and records Assignments of patents. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) and 5-7 years of relevant/specialized work experience is required. Legal or professional services organization experience is preferred. Paralegal certificate is preferred. Experience assisting patent prosecution attorneys with patent application preparation, prosecution and maintenance, preparation and analysis of documents and interviews with clients and inventors is required.
