This mid size Orlando office maintains a full service civil law practice. The is organized into the following areas: litigation, health law, communications and media, employment and labor, tax, personal planning and employee benefits, securities and public offering, real estate, and business and corporate office. Legal Secretary - Litigation The candidate will have extensive e-filing experience in both State and Federal courts. Record and monitor deadlines through the Firm docketing system and individual attorney calendar systems. Prepare, proof, and format correspondence, pleadings, and other necessary documentation. Organize and prepare notebooks for depositions, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials. Create and save documents in accordance with Firm Protocols. Assist multiple attorneys. Process attorney and client reimbursements and invoices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; high level of competency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel; possess pdf skills, including the ability to create and edit. Other duties as may be assigned. The candidate must have a high school education with 5 years of experience. Should have technical, language, mathematical, reasoning skills Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel; ability to type/enter data; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff members and attorneys; ability to write simple correspondence and routine messages; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and interpret documents such as operating instructions, procedure manuals, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, financial reports, or legal documents, e-filing experience and thorough knowledge of both State and Federal court processes and procedures. Must be highly organized, independent, and possess excellent time management skills. Should have thrived in a fast-paced, deadline-intensive environment; possess excellent people skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities; ability to think creatively and exercise independent judgment when necessary.
