Legal Secretary (Litigation) The candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers in a highly collaborative working environment. Will be responsible for document preparation, editing; file maintenance and client billing. Support up to five timekeepers, performing time entry duties, electronic court filings in both state and federal courts, preparing pleadings, and processing mail. Interact with clients, both in person and over the phone. Make travel arrangements and prepare and submit expense reimbursements. Handle administrative confidential/sensitive firm and/or client information. Duties may be ongoing or ad-hoc in nature. Perform other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
The candidate should have 5+ years of litigation experience in a mid to large sized law firm and be proficient in legal secretarial and administrative tasks including document preparation, filing, time entry, expenses, telephone contact, travel arrangements and calendar maintenance. Must be proficient in both federal and state court rules. Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook (including utilization of styles and pleading formatting), Excel and PowerPoint.
