Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: RFD Responses & Supplemental Responses (producing medical records). Expert Designations. Gathering & Producing Expert Files. RFA Responses. Medical Chronologies. Preparing Notebooks. Sending Courtesy Copies of Court Filings to Judge Prior to Hearings. Preparing Initial Discovery Requests. Discovery Deadlines (making sure we are properly supplemented). Preparing Pre-Trial Documents (exhibit list, witness list, motion in limine, proposed jury charge, etc.) (for non CD cases). Trial Prep. Background Checks. Social Media Searches. Counter-Affidavits. Expert Packets. Preparing Notebooks. Records Orders. Motions to Quash DWQs. Anything the attorneys request. Qualifications: Must have 3+ years defense litigation paralegal experience. Experience in Construction Defect, Product Liability, Personal Injury, and Transportation a PLUS!. Experience with preparing records, assembling exhibits, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation. Experience drafting and responding to standard discovery demands (interrogatories, requests to produce documents, etc.). Strong computer skills: proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems, ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems and databases. Professional, clear and effective communication both written and verbal a must. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands. Team player and ability to work with personnel within a specific practice group and the firm as a whole. Work closely with an experienced senior paralegal. Ability to integrate quickly into a fast-paced environment.
