Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist with document organization through various stages of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, trials and appeals. Analyze client and case information to develop case chronologies. Assist with all phases of discovery including collecting, organizing, and reviewing client documents; preparing document productions; redacting document productions; reviewing and organizing incoming document productions; summarizing document productions; draft privilege logs; preparing deposition preparation binders; managing pre- and post-deposition logistics; summarize deposition testimony. Assist with motion practice including preparing exhibits; draft affidavits; proofreading; factual and legal research; and assisting with preparation for oral argument. Cite check, bluebook, and Shepardize memoranda of law and briefs. Participate in case team meetings, creation of task lists and meeting minutes; follow up on action items and assigned tasks. Coordinate and participate in all tasks leading up to and during the trial including: organizing trial notebooks, drafting trial exhibits and witness lists; preparing deposition designations; tracking admission of evidence at trial; and summarizing trial testimony. Prepare records on appeal. Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings and trials: organize and file exhibits and all other supporting documents. Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure that all logistical and case management needs are met for trial. Review and monitor case dockets to identify, summarize, and circulate relevant pleadings and applications. Perform other related duties as assigned. Should have a Bachelor's degree with 3-4 years of experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Superior proofreading and research skills including electronic research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and/or CourtLink. Experience with e-discovery platforms such as Relativity is needed. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Should have the ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
