Legal Secretary Litigation The candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing patent applications and various prosecution documents via the electronic filing system, communication with clients, drafting client reporting letters and maintaining and reviewing attorney dockets. Preparing draft court documents, specifically complaints, answers, discovery, briefs, motions, motions for summary judgment, correspondence and memos. Preparing for trials as needed. Organizing and maintaining documents, and case files. Mailing, faxing, or arranging for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials. The candidate should have 3-5 years of experience as a litigation secretary. Must have strong knowledge of USPTO rules and requirements and understand how to maintain U.S. Patent Prosecution case files. Strong proofreading, spelling and grammar skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and various legal software applications. Excellent oral & written communication skills required. Extremely detail oriented, organized and have great follow through skills. Strong interpersonal skills essential. Strong proofreading skills, familiarity with both state and federal court filings, E-filing experience, and is detail oriented with great spelling and grammar skills.
