Paralegal - Litigation Duties: Administratively manage all phases of a litigation matter including litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures. Manage electronic data and hard copy documents. Manage and manipulate data in litigation support software. Legal and factual cite checking using the Blue Book. A thorough understanding of rules of procedure for various federal and state jurisdictions. Research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, and the Internet. Coordinate with the Docket Dept. to effectively execute docket and court filing activities using ECF filing procedures. Assist with witness preparation. Assist with the arbitration, mediation, and trial preparation. Attend and assist at trials and arbitrations. Effectively delegate appropriate assignments to Project Assistants, administrative and temporary staff. Prioritize and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines. Any other projects as assigned by an Attorney or the Paralegal Manager. Qualifications: BA/BS with strong academic credentials. Must have 5+ years of litigation and trial experience at a medium or large law firm. Proficiency with Relativity, Case Notebook, and other litigation support software. Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Outlook Calendar, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Professional. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program is desired. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, partners, associates, paralegals, and all staff members. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills. Good judgment. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Works harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team. A self-starter who shows ownership and commitment to the role. Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality.
