Real Estate Paralegal Duties: The candidate will be able to review the title in the context of development and redevelopment. Coordinates with title insurance companies. Prepare and search titles for multi-state commercial real estate practice, commercial leasing, retail, office, industrial leasing, and renewable energy. Drafts incorporation documents for corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, non-profit corporations, and other entities. Assists in the preparation for closings by drafting, preparing, and /or reviewing: agendas, documents, surveys, certificates, and all other required items. Prepares closing binders and maintains a schedule of post-closing items for various corporate and real estate closings. Conducts research, including Internet searches, for corporate status and filing information, Uniform Commercial Code filings, title research, docket retrieval from various courts, and related legal research. Organizes and maintains corporate records, loan documents, closing agendas and files, and other documents. Orders documents, searches, status certificates, tax waivers, municipal lien certificates, certified copies, and other public records. Maintains positive contact with clients and observes confidentiality of client matters. Keeps accurate time records. Qualifications: The candidate should have a B.A./B.S. degree, and 3+ years of experience. Knowledge of various Registries of Deeds and Land Court. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, complex documents, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence and to effectively present information in various situations. Strong knowledge of computer operation, spreadsheet software and word processing software required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Demonstrates effective teamwork, communication and prioritizes and anticipates work needs. Must be able to work well under occasional periods of pressure and short deadlines. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters. Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors. Interpersonal skills are necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail, and by telephone and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff, and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Work occasionally requires a high level of focus and mental alertness while organizing and maintaining multiple matters. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, fax machines, and typewriters. Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally and statewide, via private or public conveyance to assist attorneys in attending to client needs on legal matters.
