Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be preparing, filing, and serving case pleadings from start to finish (summons, complaints, motions, orders). Sending and responding to discovery (request for admissions, requests for production, interrogatories). Obtaining information and documents from clients. Updating clients on the status of their cases. Coordinating and scheduling hearings, depositions, and property inspections. Managing assigned attorney's calendar. Inputting information into case management software. Entering all time worked on a file into billing software. Managing case flow, documenting actions taken, ensuring the case is moving in the workflow. Maintaining and enter case costs by verifying outstanding balances with attorneys, clients, and providers. Assisting with trial preparation by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; taking courtroom notes. Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. The candidate must have 2 years of law firm experience as a litigation paralegal. Must have complete familiarity with and ability to use Outlook (email, tasks, and calendaring), MS Word, Excel, and pdf programs (Adobe and Nitro Pro). Must be able to copy and paste, edit, format, change fonts, colors, save files to different locations, create files, create folders, work with excel spreadsheets, etc. Must have more than a basic knowledge of these programs. Prior experience using case management software to manage files and workflow a plus.
