Litigation Legal Secretary Duties: Support both attorneys and paralegals in a variety of areas including: medical malpractice, premises liability, trucking, construction and insurance defense. Open and maintain files; Heavy e-filing with State and Federal Courts; Docketing and calendaring; Run conflicts checks; Accounting tasks such as: submitting check requests and attorney reimbursements; Provide coverage for other secretaries as needed. Requirements: 3 years of experience as a litigation legal secretary is required. Defense experience preferred. Experience with a document management system and maintenance of files electronically; Proficient knowledge of the State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; Proficient knowledge and experience using Colorado Courts E-Filing (formerly known as ICCES) and U.S. District Court ECF; Knowledge and experience using PACER; Ability to transcribe using transcription technology &/or machine; Ability to calculate deadlines and docket them using electronic calendaring systems; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Well-developed skills in editing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition; Ability to anticipate problems, find solutions, and prioritize work accordingly; Well-developed time management and organizational skills; Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload with critical deadlines; Ability to exercise a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment; Advanced Microsoft Word and Outlook skills (Office 365 preferred) and Excel proficiency. Excellent communication skills, attendance and reliability.
