Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal The candidate will perform a variety of responsibilities to assist attorneys in a litigation practice. Will organizes and maintains case files, pleadings and other documents; coordinates document control systems and litigation support services; preparation for trial; maintains client contact and observes client confidentiality; assists with a variety of enforcement strategies outside of district court. Establish, organize and maintain the firm's proprietary electronic versions of case files including discovery, all notebooks and indexes. Discovery including preparation for depositions and coordination of document productions including gathering, review, labeling, copying and organization. Utilizes computerized litigation support software such as Relativity, Trial Director, Adobe, and Sharepoint. Set up and coordinated of databases and database searching. Drafts correspondence and pleadings including routine notices, declarations, and motions. Drafts charts, indexes and memoranda including timelines. Docket responsibilities for case deadlines. Trial preparation and trial support including responsibilities for trial software and hardware set up and coordination of travel and war room arrangements; IP enforcement via non-district court proceedings, including arbitration, IPR, and online marketplace. Appellate work including organization of appendices and cite-checking briefs. Conducts factual and legal research. The candidate should have a BA degree and/or paralegal certificate, 5+ years as a paralegal in litigation. Must have knowledge of intellectual property basics, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. The ability to concentrate on details is required. The ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors is needed. Ability to use or learn to use software useful to litigation, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including FrontPage is required. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff.
