Legal Secretary (Litigation) The candidate will draft, prepare, proofread and process pleadings, discovery, briefs, and correspondence. Will be docketing case deadlines and daily mail. Electronically filing and handling service of pleadings according to the local rules in state and federal court, including bankruptcy. File maintenance and organization. Answering telephones. Using Microsoft Office applications. Handles client matters (when appropriate) through telephone and e-mail. Using Intapp Time (software package) for time and expenses. Keeps record of attorney s time and expenses and submits to Accounting Department in a timely fashion; recapping expense memoranda and other miscellaneous accounting projects as assigned. Maintains work calendars by scheduling appointments, conference calls and other meetings. Prepares travel, hotel and car arrangements by using the internet. General office duties, such as preparing copies, printing e-mails and documents. Organizing and maintaining extensive sets of files, both paper and electronic. Using FileTrail (software package) and organizing/maintaining sets of files. Backup staff support in litigation and other departments. Organizing and maintaining work room and supplies. Must be flexible with hours when work demands; and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned. The candidate should have 4+ years' experience as a litigation secretary. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word. E-Filing (federal/state/bankruptcy) is essential. Experience with PowerPoint and Excel is required. Must have excellent grammar and spelling skills. Litigation Technology Services Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining and troubleshooting litigation support databases, trial presentation software and hardware. Assist with document review, production, and trial support to the legal teams. Operate litigation technology systems with an emphasis on Relativity, Summation, Trial Director and the CaseMap suite. Set up courtroom and war room technologies. Out-of-state travel required 2-4 times a year for trial support services over extended periods of time. Support Legal team efforts by ensuring quality assurance steps in processing and production phases and, assisting and guiding firm case teams when they encounter technical obstacles. Provide user support and database training for Practice Support department applications. Analyze database content in Relativity, Summation iBlaze, TextMap, QuinC and prepare searches for the legal teams. Complete accurate and timely detailed billable-times entries. Prepare privilege and production logs. Conduct document review for responsive and privileged records. Analyze and stage large volumes of electronic data for purposes of loading into a litigation support document review tool. Prepare detailed project tickets with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Provide coverage to other members of the department when they are out of the office. Ability to work within scheduling constraints in high pressure situations is critical, and handling multiple priorities working under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Paralegal certificate required. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Outlook). Additional Technology Skills That Are a Plus: Trial Director, Multimedia design, digital, print and video, Application knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
