Litigation Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Calendaring hearings, deadlines and reminders completely and accurately. Create and generate Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents for pleadings. Arrange, schedule, and confirm court reporters and videographers for depositions and hearings Various general administrative tasks, including: Scheduling office meetings; answering, gatekeeping, and managing calls; managing a large volume of email; and performing reception duties in concert with other team members. The candidate will have: A Bachelors degree in any subject, from a fully accredited educational institution. 3+ years' experience in a personal injury law firm or insurance defense law firm. Accurate typing skills at 65+ wpm. Advanced knowledge of litigation processes, procedures, and service requirements. Mastery of both electronic and manual filing requirements and procedures. Thorough grasp of local litigation rules and deadlines. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills, comfort with multi-line phone systems. Sterling time management, project prioritization, organization and research skills. Impeccable attention to detail, including outstanding proofreading skills. Reliability, Reliability, and Reliability. Ability to excel while working with minimal supervision, individually and as part of a team. Ability to adapt to unfamiliar protocols and unforeseen complications (a quick study A?). Proficiency in creating Legal Pleadings using MS Office, including creating and applying Styles in MS Word. Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Essential Forms Judicial Council Forms, Google Mail, and Google Calendar. Ability to speak English and Spanish. Availability and willingness to work in excess of 40 hours a week, when necessary. A desire to make a difference, a sense of humor, and the ability to roll with the proverbial punches.
