Legal Secretary (Litigation) DUTIES: Responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to the Firm, its attorneys and paralegals. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, legal documents (i.e. pleadings, TOC/TOA, etc.); prepares conflict check requests, opens new files and maintains client and general files; enters timesheets and proofs pre-bills and invoices; coordinates travel and submits expense reimbursements; calendaring/docketing important dates and events; other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by the Firm. Prepare attorneys correspondence and legal documents as requested. Manage and maintain attorneys calendar. Schedule and organize complex activities such as meetings, travel, and seminars. Establish, develop, maintain and update filing system for the attorneys. Organize and prioritize large volumes of email and phone calls. Update and proof visual presentations. QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree or equivalent desired. ABA paralegal certificate a plus. 5 years of experience as a litigation secretary in a law firm. Highly organized with extreme attention to detail. Ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency. Exceptional litigation skills with strong working knowledge of State and Federal Court rules (including e-filing). Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others. Expert knowledge of Word (including TOC and TOA), Excel and PowerPoint. Innovative and proactive in maintaining and improving quality of work. A strong attention to detail, extreme organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment is required.
