Temporary Litigation Paralegal The candidate will report to the Office Administrator and perform paralegal responsibilities in connection with civil litigation. Will assist with all aspects of state and federal litigation, and arbitrations, including: aiding with the preparation, filing, and organization of pleadings, memoranda, discovery, and other legal documents; cite checking; collecting, maintaining, organizing, and reviewing evidence; managing multiple fast-moving dockets; aiding in depositions, hearings, trial preparation and trial. Manage and organize medium and large case document collection and productions including electronically stored information. Perform and aid with legal and factual research projects. Provide additional assistance as needed. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
The candidate should have a four-year degree or completion of a legal assistant program. Must have 5+ years of experience as a civil litigation legal assistant/paralegal. Knowledge of civil procedures; court procedures and rules is required. Should have database advanced knowledge of: Relativity and other document review/hosting databases - Pacer, Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Word, Compulaw, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have experience with complex commercial litigation. Flexibility for overtime is essential. Note: This assignment is expected to last approx. 6 months. At that time the workload will be assessed to determine a possible extension of temporary assignment or conversion to a regular position.
