The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Real Estate Paralegal Responsibilities: Perform due diligence including review of title commitments, surveys and underlying title documents and entity documents, coordinate and implement transactions and closings. Organize and maintain due diligence using document management systems. Other responsibilities as client needs dictate.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree. 2+ years of commercial real estate and title & survey experience. Experience reviewing title commitments, surveys and related title exception documents and familiarity with ALTA title and survey standards. Knowledge of partnerships, limited liability companies, tax credit or partnership syndications, a plus. Self-directed individual with the demonstrated ability to prioritize, juggle multiple assignments, function as part of a cohesive team and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Excellent, organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communications.
