Paralegal - Real Estate Candidate will be handling a range of transactional, land use, research and administrative tasks. Will undertake a range of tasks and responsibilities that facilitate and coordinate the activities of the two practice groups. Examples of these activities are assisting attorneys with research, drafting and tracking a variety of topics related to client legal updates; preparing correspondence and external written communication; drafting/comparing transactional documents; assisting in the preparation and review of transactional documentation including assembly, tracking and distribution of all closing documents; providing assistance to lawyers at the closing; preparing, compiling and organizing documentation for filing with the requisite government agencies for land use/zoning approvals and condominium and other common interest developments; monitoring legislative and master plan actions in various jurisdictions; preparing property summaries related to zoning and subdivision status; maintaining a calendar of relevant dates; recording documents and handling the process for the approval and recordation of plats in DC and other jurisdictions; and conducting review of newly enacted legislation for client summaries. Qualifications: 2+ years of prior law firm experience, college degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred. Experience with title and survey review, preferably with HUD programs, and entity formation experience are plus. Ability to organize multiple projects, manage closings and handle document distribution, checklists and post-closing issues, is required. Excellent writing, technical, interpersonal, research and organization skills are essential to be successful in this position. Must have a proven track record of being able to multi-task, communicate effectively and meet deliverables. Must be organized, flexible, able to juggle multiple assignments, and enjoy the challenges of working with various attorneys within the firm as well as government agencies in the District. Real Estate Paralegal

The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for the real estate and project finance transactions. Will perform due diligence including review of title commitments, surveys and underlying title documents and entity documents, coordinate and implement transactions and closings. Organize and maintain due diligence using document management systems. Other responsibilities as client needs dictate. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate or appropriate job-related experience required. Minimum 1-2 years experience as a commercial real estate paralegal, preferably in a law firm environment. Experience reviewing title commitments, surveys and related title exception documents and familiarity with ALTA title and survey standards. Knowledge of partnerships, limited liability companies, tax credit or partnership syndications, a plus. Self-directed individual with the demonstrated ability to prioritize, juggle multiple assignments, function as part of a cohesive team and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Excellent, organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communications. Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet client needs.
