Paralegal - Litigation Duties: Support attorneys in litigation and/or other trial-related matters, to include assistance with trial research, preparation, and presentation; draft pleadings and discovery responses, prepare affidavits, prepare subpoenas, gather and organize evidence and other information. Manage document productions (electronic and paper,) prepare exhibits and coordinate demonstrative evidence for hearings and trials, cite check and finalize briefs and memoranda. Summarize depositions, transcripts and records. Prepare case summaries, chronologies, correspondence, and memoranda. Perform assigned legal research tasks using all available resources including computer data systems and websites. Establish, organize and maintain pleading boards, attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists. Devise file organization scheme and supervise file maintenance, prepare privilege logs. Prepare exhibits and schedules. E-file with federal and state courts. Contact with outside vendors, including review and disburse vendors invoices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 1-5 years work experience in a law firm environment, or related professional experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MSWord, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; working knowledge of FileSite document management system is a plus. Proficiency in utilizing the Internet, Adobe Acrobat, U.S. Patent Office Electronic Filing System, EPCT; experience with legal research tools preferred. Ability to effectively utilize digital litigation support and electronic document production applications. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks so as to perform essential duties of the position under time constraints and with frequent interruptions. Ability to proofread materials for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Ability to work well in high pressure environments. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, photocopiers and fax. Must have strong organizational, decision-making skills and problem-solving skills. Must be reliable and a self-starter. Position is full-time and requires a five-day workweek and standard hours as outlined in the firm policy manual. Work frequently requires more than the regularly scheduled hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Must be available to work overtime, including weekend hours, when necessary to meet established deadlines or stay current with occasional peaks in workload. Must be willing to change regular work schedule to meet the needs of the Firm.
