Litigation Paralegal, Legal Assistant Duties: Work with attorneys in a high-quality, collaborative law office. Will be involved in a range of work in the practice areas of: litigation (primary support of this role); employment, discrimination and labor law; intellectual property and trademark matters; corporate and business matters; and other practice areas as needed. Preparation of legal documents, proofreading, and editing must have a strong eye for detail and proofreading documents; assist with on-line legal research (databases such as Westlaw and Pacer); manage litigation calendar and keep attorneys informed of upcoming deadlines; interface with firm clients and manage client communications; file forms and legal documents electronically or in person; assist with firm administration, including client billing, legal secretarial support, reception coverage, marketing and other administrative matters as needed. Requirements: Completed Bachelor of Arts or higher degree is required; a paralegal certification is a plus. An undergraduate degree; experience in litigation support; top grades (minimum 3.5 GPA or higher), superior writing and oral communication skills, attention to detail, proven organizational skills, excellent time management ability and work ethic, strong computer skills (including Word and Excel) and on-line legal research abilities; must have a solid 2-3 years of verifiable legal/law firm work experience. A law school student seeking full-time employment, recent graduate with 2+ years of verifiable work experience in a law firm, or a recent graduate with an interest in pursing law school (although law school interest is by no means a requirement of this position).
