Patent Paralegal Duties: Calendaring deadlines, calendaring internal firm reminders Prepare and file information disclosure statements. Assist with the drafting and reviewing of U.S. patent applications E-filing with the USPTO File U.S. trademark applications, statements of use, renewal applications, affidavits of use Review file history for accuracy in anticipation of payment issue fee. Review correspondence from Patent Offices regarding status of U.S. applications; ensure accuracy of information such as official filing receipts, publications, notifications, assignments, acceptances and letters patent documents. Update and maintain IDS reference database. Proofing legal documents. Corresponding with clients. Calculate patent term adjustments pre- and post- issuance. Conduct searches, extract data from searches, and organize date from searches. Maintain electronic files. Prepare patent family trees. Prepare status reports.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail is a must. Highly organized. Initiative and willingness to take on additional projects. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
