Paralegal - Commercial/Litigation Duties: Analyze title documents, investigate and resolve title issues, review title exceptions; Manage the review and compliance of all materials supporting the commercial acquisition process, including: title commitments, surveys, title documents, executed contracts, leases, and other legal due diligence materials and supporting documentation. Ability to run closings from start to finish and have knowledge of title insurance commitments and surveys for commercial and residential real estate closings, assisting with the preparation of due diligence items, reviewing due diligence checklist and loan documents, research of UCC filings and corporate documents. Prepare loan packages for clients, prepare/draft loan documents for all parties, prepare/draft recordable documents for filing, general internet research, completing general post-closing items. Prepare, file, and serve all pleadings and other court documents in litigation. Review pleadings and other documents filed by opposing counsel and other parties in litigation. Keep managing attorney(s) informed of all developments, deadlines, depositions, and all actions taken in each case. Manage and coordinate schedule and deadlines for all cases assigned to managing attorney(s). Maintain positive relations with all clients through regular communication. Proofreading documents and letters. Requirements: Bachelor or Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal certificate. Florida Registered Paralegal preferred. 2+ years of experience. High level of knowledge regarding key legal concepts. Demonstrated superior customer service skills. Innovative problem resolution and analytical skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced/dynamic environment. High level of professionalism and confidentiality. Experience with Microsoft Word, including document editing and formatting; familiarity with Excel a must. PDF document creation and editing. Knowledge of e-discovery applications and ability to provide document review assistance. Know how to e-file and prepare documents and exhibits for depositions, hearings and trial. Understand and appropriately apply the firm s practices and procedures. Availability of overtime as needed. A proficient writer; strong grammar skills a must. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exhibit strong communication skills. Able to work at a fast pace. Accurate and consistent. Highly organized and detail oriented. Must be familiar with all Florida court filing systems, including CM/ECF, PACER and be able to file and serve through those systems. WestLaw proficiency. Ability to identify applicable local rules in state and federal courts, as well as applicable appellate court rules. Doubletime experience.
