Real Estate Paralegal The candidate, under the direction of the real estate attorneys, will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, due diligence, closing and post-closing activities for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Will order and review title commitments, exception documents and surveys, interfacing directly with the title company and surveyor to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists. Coordinate assistance with all aspects of closings, including preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, and other closing documents. Attend all post-closing requirements, including preparation of closing indices, the preparation and organization of closing binders, and monitoring all post-closing deliveries or requirements. Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memorandum. Prepare initial draft documents, amendments to agreements or leases and miscellaneous documents, including estoppel certificates, SNDAs and Memos of Lease, for attorney review. Order UCC lien and other searches. The candidate should have Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate. Must have 5 years of prior experience in commercial real estate transactions, including experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Law firm and in-house experience will be considered. Knowledge of formation of entities and review of organizational and authority documents is required. Must have excellent legal research skills, including knowledge of electronic databases. Should have proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook or similar email/calendar technology. Knowledge of relevant databases essential. Strong writing, organizational and communication skills are required. Extensive knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and legal terminology is a must.
