Real Estate Paralegal The candidate assists attorneys in full-cycle real estate finance transactions and commercial real estate; manages and coordinates closing deliverables with multiple parties; creates checklists, prepares abstracts of core transaction documents and reviews updates to interim versions of documents; and assists attorneys in managing projects and tracking tasks, alerting them of any concerns. Coordinates and manages large commercial real estate financing transactions (including CMBS, Agency, SASB and Whole Business securitizations), including preparing closing deliverables and coordinating with multiple transaction parties. Coordinates with clients and adverse parties on the execution and delivery of documents under strict time constraints. Manages all capital market projects within the Real Estate practice group and maintains tickler system to ensure that due diligence and other transactional matters are completed in accordance with transactional schedules. Prepares closing binders, follows up on outstanding post-closing matters and delivers binders to clients and adverse parties in a timely manner. Reviews and drafts transactional documents. Utilizes, creates and establishes procedures to organize and locate documents. Manages and maintains files reflecting work product and progress on large projects, e.g., initial filings, unusual transactions, etc. Creates and maintains transactional files. Coordinates and manages large and complex commercial real estate transactions, often covering multiple properties in multiple jurisdictions. Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. A Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Must have 6+ years of experience. Experience assisting attorneys in project management and all aspects of practice group support is required; experience working as a paralegal in a large firm, corporate or commercial real estate finance practice is highly preferred. Strong Microsoft Office capabilities - Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
