Litigation Paralegal Duties: Review and set up new matters, identify Client and contacts, calendar any critical dates and assist with fee approval requests as necessary. Review, proofread and prepare responses drafted by the attorney for filing, including collection of exhibits, preparation of certificates of service, summons, cover letters.. General file research requesting additional needed documentation from client and other task requests researching entity information as needed, etc.. Monitoring deadlines, alerting attorney of critical dates, calendar dates and follow ups. Assist attorney with hearing preparation. Confer with the court to schedule hearings and to obtain information as needed. Assist administrative staff with providing client updates as needed. Client liaison (i.e.. buffer between client and attorney) provide client with requested information, obtain information from client, send and receive documents, provide updates when requested from direct client contact via email. Confer with opposing counsel, Court officers and interested parties regarding files. Research local court rules, confer with clerks, etc. to ensure compliance with court expectations. Notarize documents, keep notary log. Enter information in PracticePanther and update as necessary. And all other job duties as assigned. Requirements: Active notary preferred. 2+ years' previous litigation experience. PracticePanther systems knowledge preferred.
