Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will support a very busy personal Injury litigation firm. Will be preparing and processing correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents in personal injury litigation. Maintaining calendars and files. Preparing client ledgers and/or expense reimbursements; and handling other general administrative duties. Will be organizing discovery files and preparing exhibits for depositions and trials. Drafting motions, affidavits, legal memoranda, legal briefs in complex litigation cases. Drafting/processing discovery. Review of documents produced in discovery.
The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience as a Paralegal. Minimum 2 years experience with NC Civil court and local rules procedures in filings. Knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents and legal processes. Strong knowledge of MS Office, document management, Prevail. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Strong proofreading skills. Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Stability and responsibility reflected in work history. Professional attitude and business mature. Motivated, proactive and multitasker. Research experience using Lexis/Westlaw. Proficient in preparing components of filings (table of contents, authorities, declarations, statement of undisputed facts). Must be willing to work overtime when workload requires it.
