Paralegal - Real Estate The candidate will develop practice-specific knowledge, skills, and experience to manage projects and determine appropriate course of action; maintain proficiency in technology relevant to the position. Will complete assignments following well-defined procedures. Apply accrued knowledge and skills to manage general tasks independently. Develop research skills to identify and organize information and verify accuracy and completeness of information. Leverage resources to ensure highest quality of work product and to increase efficiency. Effectively organize and manage assignments to complete competing tasks within a timely manner. Organize and maintain files and databases relevant to practice group. Develop analytical skills to identify issues and effectively make decisions. Resolve issues of limited scope and complexity exercising good judgment. Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations. Prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis. Prepare and submit timecards on a weekly basis. Assist in all phases of real estate transactions from inception to closing. Assist with review and preparation of loan documents. Coordinate requests and filings with service companies. Review, prepare, and file UCC financing statements. Review due diligence and other property-related materials. Review and analyze title reports and surveys. Proofread and redline documents. Assist with pre-closing document organization and distribution. Attend transaction closing and assist with document organization, indexing and distribution of closing documents. Consistently promote and model the firm's Client Service Principles in leadership, teamwork, work product, and personal interaction. Ensure compliance with the firm's Information Handling Policy, including safeguarding confidential and personal information, and reporting any suspected breach appropriately and immediately. Adhere to the firm's General Safety Practices and any unique safety practices for department and building. Should preferably have a Bachelor's degree. Should preferably also have 2 years of relevant experience in practice area or comparable work experience. Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint needed. Must have flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business and client needs. Flexibility to travel may be required.
