Litigation Paralegal The candidate will Conduct factual research, including performing initial case assessments and document searches, creating and maintaining internal case databases, running searches on internal and external document databases and systems, as needed. Research various aspects of cases for purposes of evaluation and discovery, including obtaining current court rules and standards, tracking matters, requesting admissions and production, and factual and legal research. Draft various correspondence and pleadings, including initial complaints, charges, answers, document requests and responses, interrogatories and other discovery, summons and affidavits, exhibits and other required litigation materials. Support the firm's attorneys and administrative personnel as needed, including but not limited to assisting the lawyers with billing, cover letters, and any other requested client or firm administration. Assist the lawyers with preparing witnesses and materials, and organizing interview memos, digests and other relevant documents for attorney review, witness discussions, and case preparation. Participate and take notes during client conferences and summarize content. Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions by gathering and preparing documents, organizing exhibits, taking notes and handling exhibits during depositions. Assist attorneys with hearing and motion practice, including assembling all relevant documents, proofreading correspondence and papers, organizing exhibits and creating document indices in the preparation of motion filing. File pleadings and documents with courts and agencies, including organizing briefs, exhibits and appendices as well as ensuring electronic filing, proper compliance with notification rules, distribution of files and courtesy copies. Prepare and file submissions to state and federal agencies concerning transactional, real estate, and intellectual property matters. Assist with trial preparation including organizing exhibits, files and all other supporting documents and coordinating trial set-up and logistics. Litigation experience are required. Exceptional organizational, communication and investigative skills, including listening and interpersonal skills are required. High level of written comprehension and exceptional writing skills are required. Excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills are required. Ability to work in PowerPoint and graphics programs a plus.
