Litigation Paralegal Duties: Contribute to robust Product Liability & Environmental practice group on complex litigation matters. Work with experienced trial lawyers and a progressive in-house litigation technology teams. Work with the practice group to defend, resolve and try product liability, environmental, commercial, and/or complex mass tort cases. Work as part of a dynamic team, including experienced and recognized lawyers and an advanced in-house technology departments for managing litigation. Put into practice advanced case management skills, seeing a case from inception through discovery, trial preparation, trial and post-trial phases of matter. Review, analyze and organize litigation documents; prepare and file pleadings and discovery. Provide clear and complete work delegation to associates, legal administrative assistants and other support staff as necessary. Monitor on-going case activity and pending deadlines.
Qualifications: Paralegal certificate, or a 4-year college degree. 5-7 + years of large law firm, complex litigation experience. Trial preparation and experience. Nursing background desired. Energetic, organized, detail oriented and disciplined with the willingness to work hard. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, through effective communication strategies. Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints, with competing and shifting priorities. Knowledge and commitment in the use of technology for litigation support and trial preparation. Ability to bill 1550 hours annually towards the firm s paralegal billing expectation. Strong project management skills. Willingness to travel.
